Merdeka 118
Merdeka 118 stands at 678.9 meters (2,227 feet), making it the second-tallest building in the world as of its completion, just behind the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. It is located in Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia. The construction of Merdeka 118 was completed in late 2022. The building has a mix of uses, including offices, hotels, and residential spaces. It also features an observation deck that provides panoramic views of Kuala Lumpur. The building's design was inspired by the rich cultural heritage of Malaysia, particularly the traditional patterns found in local textiles. Merdeka 118 is named after Malaysia’s declaration of independence, "Merdeka," which was proclaimed in 1957 at the nearby Stadium Merdeka. The building is part of a larger development project aimed at revitalizing the surrounding area.
